Echoic MemoriesThis is the type of tune that can reflect a number of moods and vibes. Smooth and light yet dark and edgy at times this track is aptly named as it can transport the listener to a state of introspective thought. With the use of meticulous and thoughtful drum programming and close attention to the most minor of details in the sound effects and percussion elements, Aphonic has created a classic piece of music which is as layered and thick as it is hypnotic.

Gripfunk
The backing track is another great tune from the Californian due entitled Gripfunk. As the name suggests, this one is designed slightly more for the dancefloor than the flip while still working well in the headphones or at home. Swinging drums lead the way as other percussion elements, funky basslines and nice resolving synths parts sit right in the pocket and bring it all together.

RunawayRunaway is a soulful roller with a classic feel. Undersound does it right and equips this track with some choice and running breaks, subby bass stabs, and haunting vocals. A nice funky swing on half-time breakdowns give this tune a perfect laid back contrast to the high energy of the big drops that will be sure to have the fellas and the ladies getting physical on the dancefloor.

All Seeing
There is something nice about a tune that reminds you of the past but also looks to the future and that is exactly what All Seeing can do for it’s listener. A bit harder and darker than the flip, this track provides the rockers with something for a serious brock out session. Understated vocal stabs hang out in the back of the room while big bass and hard hitting drums take the main stage and are prepared to smack up any beard stroker in the place.

Tunnel VisionReminiscent of the old school, while keeping the sounds as fresh and crisp as the morning air, Calculon’s debut release on Sublife, Tunnel Vision, has been creating some serious buzz around the globe. Steady rolling breaks set the pace for some major sub low bass equipped with creative LFO lines, while some haunting synth stabs and FX succeed in tying the pieces together nicely. Delayed piano notes, 808 style subby bass hits, and some choice yet perfectly sparse female vocals make this tune a well rounded number that does the job on the dance floor as well as in the headphones.

“Calculon really hits all the right spots with this solid little roller. A trippy, warping bassline and spacey sound effects hold things together nicely. One for the headz.”
- Stunna
All the Time
San Francisco producers Lukeino, The Heights & Equilibrium deliver a soulful funky tune for the backing track of Sublife’s 3rd release. “All the Time” starts out with a bit of half-step goodness just before dropping into a serious rolling bassline. Running breaks and some nice steady bongos keep the energy moving while a couple of not so wobbly LFO lines have a nice little conversation with each other about the sunny weather outside. Some early DJ support from has been received by Mix Master Doc, Stunna, Method One & Calculon to name a few.
